Although recorded from São Tomé Island as Hippocampus punctulatus Guichenot, 1853 based on (1) collection and photograph by DOP in Lagoa Azul, over mixed bottom in 2 m (DOP-ICT 1015-2000, 1: 222 mm SL) and (2) photo by Peter Wirtz (printed in Ref. 34514) on muddy plain in 24 m (Ref. 30488), it lies outside the distributional range given by Ref. 30915, 115213, thus needing verification. |
